Every women's wedding ring here is made to order in our South African workshop, in 9ct or 18ct yellow, white, or rose gold, set with GRA certified moissanite or IGI certified lab grown diamonds. Choosing a style
Plain bands are the most versatile option. They never compete with an engagement ring, suit any setting, and are the easiest to resize later. If the engagement ring is detailed, a plain band is usually the better companion.
Pave bands carry small stones along the band for continuous sparkle. They pair well with a plain solitaire, adding brilliance the engagement ring does not already have. Half pave, with stones only on the top half, is more practical for active hands since fewer stones sit against the palm.
Eternity rings carry stones all the way around. Full eternity looks identical from every angle but cannot be resized without rebuilding it, and the stones on the underside sit against the finger. Half eternity avoids both problems and looks the same from above, which is why most people choose it.
Curved and contoured bands are shaped to follow the profile of a specific engagement ring, closing the gap a straight band leaves against a halo or a raised setting.
Sitting alongside the engagement ring
These two rings live together for decades, so how they meet matters. A flat band against a raised setting leaves a visible gap that catches on fabric, which is exactly what curved bands solve.
On metals: keeping both rings in the same colour is the simplest choice. Mixing 9ct and 18ct in the same colour looks fine, though over many years the harder 9ct can gradually wear the softer 18ct where they rub. White gold in both rings will need rhodium replating every one to three years to keep the colour matched, since they will wear at slightly different rates.
Stone choice
Moissanite gives the most brilliance for the budget and carries a limited lifetime warranty against clouding. Lab grown diamond is a real diamond at 60 to 80 percent below mined prices. Can the band be resized later?
