If you like the clean rectangular shape of an emerald cut but find it too restrained, radiant is the answer. The faceting underneath is arranged like a round brilliant, which means it throws the same fine sparkle rather than emerald's broad flashes.

Durability
The trimmed corners are a practical advantage. Sharp corners, as on a princess cut, are the most vulnerable point of any square stone and the most likely to chip. Radiant's cropped corners remove that weak point entirely, making it one of the more durable fancy shapes for everyday wear.
